About Us

The Network Girl Tech Initiative Uganda

The organization is a youth community-based women-led initiative empowering girls and women in Uganda. It provides technology skills, sexual and reproductive health education, climate training, and civic engagement opportunities while addressing challenges like gender-based violence, early marriage, and lack of access to education.

Our Core Mission

Empower girls, women, and marginalized communities through technology, sexual reproductive health rights, climate action, education, and advocacy so they can become change-makers.

Our Vision

A world where every girl and woman has human rights, technology access, education, dignity, and opportunities enabling her to lead and transform her community.

Voices of the Women We Serve

Technology

“Before joining the AI and robotics program, I thought technology was only for people in the city. Now I am building my own mobile app to help farmers in my village track crop diseases. NGTIU showed me that I belong in tech.”

Amina Nakityo

Technology Program, Kampala

Early Marriage Prevention

“My parents had already accepted a bride price for me when I was fifteen. The mentors at NGTIU spoke with my family and helped me stay in school. I am now in my second year of university studying law so I can protect other girls like me.”

Patience Aketch

Early Marriage Prevention, Gulu

Pads4Climate

“Through Pads4Climate I learned to make reusable sanitary pads from local materials. I now train other girls in my community and we sell the extra pads to fund tree-planting projects. One program changed everything for us.”

Ruth Nabirye

Pads4Climate Program, Jinja

Refugee Support · WISC Nora

“I fled South Sudan with nothing. NGTIU's WISC Nora program gave me a safe space, digital skills training, and a community. For the first time since leaving home I felt like I had a future worth building. I am now a peer mentor for newly arrived refugee girls.”

Mary Atim

Refugee Support / WISC Nora, Nakivale

GBV Programs

“After surviving gender-based violence I thought my voice did not matter. NGTIU's GBV program helped me heal and then trained me to use technology to document and report cases in my community. I have since helped twelve other survivors access justice.”

Grace Atuhaire

GBV Programs, Mbarara

Education Sponsorship

“My family could not afford my school fees after my father passed away. The NGTIU education sponsorship kept me in school through my O-levels and A-levels. I just received my acceptance letter to study computer science. I will come back and build the next generation of girls in tech.”

Shadia Kyalimpa

Education Sponsorship, Masaka
